Woodley Primary School will be closed only to our Key Stage 2 children on Friday 13th December, due to the significant effects of flooding and blocked drains. Woodley is a school that does its utmost to remain open and making a decision to partially close to some classes is not a decision that has been taken at all lightly.
This decision has been made in consultation with the local authority and Chair of Governors, and has been taken in the interests of health and safety and pupil welfare.
As you may know three classrooms and a corridor were badly affected by flooding last week, and sadly this has continued into this week. School has been working with contractors and will continue to liaise with contractors, in order to be able to be ready to open on Monday. If this is not possible for any reason you will be notified by text and information will be put on the school website.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause to our families. We thank you in anticipation of your understanding, and please know that we wanted to give you as much notice as possible to enable you to organise any necessary childcare.
Due to the above WASP will be unable to open.
Once again we apologise for the inconvenience.
